Information on the summer semester 2025

Due to Prof. Strohmaier’s maternity leave and parental leave, the department will offer a reduced range of courses in the coming two semesters. This particularly concerns seminar modules and the supervision of theses. We will provide more information on our website shortly. For general inquiries, please contact Susanne Priss. For questions regarding teaching, please contact the respective person in charge (Bachelor’s program: Kai Miele, Master’s program: Madhurima Chandra).

Profile

Welcome to the Chair of Public Finance!

At the Department of Public Finance, we examine the role of the state in economic activity. We ask ourselves when and why the state should intervene in private markets and analyse fiscal policy measures in terms of their effectiveness and their impact on society.

You can find more information about our research, the courses we offer and the other activities of the Fiwi team on this website. Please note that this site is still under construction. However, if you have any specific questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact a member of the department staff at any time.
